IASPRR Awards

One of the IASPRR activities is to award the following distinctions to members of its community on the basis of their contributions and their career stage.

Linskens Lecture Award: this recognition is awarded to the best oral communication made by an early career researcher (Phd or Postdoc) in each ICSPR and it consists of a medal set in bronze and crude silver and a monetary value.

Front and reverse faces of the IASPRR Medal. The medal of the Association showcases the ﬁne artistic abilities of Mrs.Ingrid Linskens. The front represents a ﬂowering potato plant, which is familiar to many researchers in plant reproduction. The Solanaceae is a well known family for studying gametophytic self incompatibility and source of crops important as well for their direct agricultural use. The reverse side displays an imprint of the name of the Association and its iconic logo. (Source: Willemse, 2008).

Willemse Poster Award: this recognition is awarded to the best poster communication made by an early career researcher (Phd or Postdoc) in each ICSPR and it consists of a nice charter and a monetary value.

Early Career Research Award in Plant Reproduction. This award recognizes outstanding research contributions to plant reproduction, with particular emphasis on originality and independence of thought of an independent, full-time researcher with no more than 10 years at the time of nomination. The award is conferred by the IASPRR Board of Directors upon recommendation of the Awards Committee and is presented at the biennial ICSPR meeting.

Plant Reproduction Medal. This is the highest distinction from our society and recognizes outstanding research career achievements and leadership contributions to the field of plant reproduction of an independent, full-time researcher or having retired from such a position. Special consideration will be given to the impact of the body of research on the advancement of science and/or the importance of the leadership for the plant reproduction community. The award is conferred by the IASPRR Board of Directors upon recommendation of the Awards Committee and is presented at the biennial scientific conference of the Association.
