IASPRR Medals
Special Award:
Professor Michiel M. T. Willemse was awarded a special lifetime contribution award for his part in forming and sustaining the IASPRR and the sexual plant reproduction congresses. Prof. Mauro Cresti presented the award at the banquet, along with a brief recollection of Prof. Willemse's central role in organizing past meetings in the series. The citation on the award reads "In recognition of lifetime contributions to the International Association of Sexual Plant Reproduction Research, this special award of appreciation is presented this fourth day of April 2000 to Michiel M. Young Scientist Presentation Awards:
The board decided to grant three awards at this congress to junior scientists, defined as those who are graduate students, or have achieved the Ph.D. no more than five years previous to the award. One IASPRR medal was awarded for the best presentation and two IASPRR medals were awarded for the best posters.
