The IASPRR pages are designed to further the goals of the Society, for stimulating communication within the organization, and for enhancing scientific research in sexual plant reproduction. The official mandate for these web pages orginated at the last general assembly. These WWW pages were created to augment the Plant Reproduction Listserv and other activities of the IASPRR. I hope that these pages will provide the conduit to disseminate news inside the organization between congresses--it is a dimension that the organization needs. To this end, I will be willing to post any announcements on these pages that are consistent with the goals of the organization. This conceivably includes announcements about conferences and workshops, post-docs available and opportunities, links for databases and plant reproduction-associated WWW pages, member's WWW pages, new books by members, book and conference reviews and other announcements of general interest. This will also provide a stable source of information for new members and students to become acquainted with the IASPRR. Selected messages of lasting importance from the Listserv can also be archived here in addition to the Tables of Contents of Sexual Plant Reproduction from 1994 to the present.
I have been careful to provide a minumum of graphical content. At the start, I provded at least two formats for each page (one in text) but in 1999 I discontinued these as the visiting rate was so low. I support the previous two versions of each major browser. As of April 8, 2000, I registered the new domain iasprr.org for the organization and I moved it to a server of mine. It is old, but should serve us well. The best response will occur on weekends and between 0100 h and 0800 h local time during weekdays. My machine does have some downtime, but it is minimal--if you have problems with this site, please don't hesitate to email me.
